Asian glamour

Once again Pakistan got an opportunity in the Asian Fashion extravaganza, held recently in Dubai, proving that our designers have that certain oomph to stand equal to international designers.

The fashion stature of Pakistan keeps going up every year and it seems like there is no stopping the vast improvement in our ways of fashion. All designers, including the amateurs and recognised ones appear to be launching one clothing line after another, each one more outstanding than the last. With such extravagant variety available, it's no wonder that our fashion industry is attaining recognition on a world wide basis. First it was the most awaited fashion fiesta known as the Dubai fashion week and now, once again Pakistan received a chance to prove that designs from our fashion industry have that certain oomph to stand equal to international designs.
Recently, our designers attained the great opportunity to participate in a grand event in Dubai, known as the Asian Fashion extravaganza. The event left all the attendees mesmerised as Asian couture took centre stage, this time at the Westin Mina Seyahi. The lucky talented Pakistani designers who participated in the event included Umar Sayeed, Chinyre Couture by Bareeze, Lajwanti , Sonia Azhar, B n S , Rani Emaan and Goal. Also presenting his designs was Arnab Sen Gupta from our neighbouring country, Kolkata, India. The elite there attended the glitzy event and watched the gorgeous models as they walked elegantly down the runway in the latest cutting edge styles.
Asian Fashion Extravaganza, no doubt, added colour and new variety in the Fashion industry of Asia, particularly in India and Pakistan. Vision Event International and Savvy PR Events in connection with private TV channels and other organizations, were responsible for presenting this mega fashion event in Dubai. This up beat fashion event provided an opportunity to the top class Indian and Pakistani designers to show the power of their fashion internationally.
The show opened with Sonia Azhar and her lovely collection, followed by Chinyre, Lajwanti, GOAL, B N S, Arnabsen Gupta, Rani Emaan and finally the king of bridal fashion Umar Sayeed. The show ended with Mehreen Syed as a bride wearing stunning bridal wear from Umar. The elegant models strutting their stuff down the ramp were Iraj Manzoor, Nadia Hussain, Gia Ali, Mehreen Syed, Rubya Chaudary, Fiza, and Nooray Bhatti along with famous UAE models. .
The credit for the music and fashion choreography goes to Rezz Aly Shah, who managed to dazzle the audience with a variety of music, adding a specific flavour according to the genre of clothes being presented. All in all the show was a perfect blend of east and west and turned out to be a successful event.
Dubai has been a big hub for promoting the Pakistani and Indian joint ventures in numerous fields, especially in the fields of style and fashion. It is playing a vital role as a platform through where many designers from both the countries get a chance to present their skills. Way to go Dubai, but more astounding than that are the efforts of all our designers. Hats off to all those who spent days and nights working to get the Pakistani fashion industry to the place where it is right now.
