Alexander McQueen Women’s Clothing Collection FW 2011-2012

Sarah Burton’s second collection for Alexander McQueen has fully supported his passion for unreal silhouettes and breathtaking designer skill. For the Fall/Winter-2011 season, Sarah has chosen the colors which are typical of nature at this time – snow white, soft blue frost, and black melancholic trees with their leaves lost.

All the models on the catwalk looked like the Snow Queen. They had unusual metal jewelry on the head which created the effect of icy hair. All the outfits proved to be incredibly lush and extraordinary – patterned bodices, voluminous cuffs with fur lining, as well as piles of tulle and feathers gently laid down on the dresses like sprigs of fern.

Olivier Rousteing New Balmain Designer

Olivier Rousting has been appointed as the new designer for Balmain women’s and menswear ready-to-wear collections after the departure of Christophe Decarnin from the French fashion house.

Rousteing has been in charge of the women’s wear design studio at Balmain since 2009 and previously worked for Roberto Cavalli for five years.

Balmain chief executive officer Alain Hivelin said he looked forward to this new era for the house.

“I am convinced of Olivier’s talent and ability to build upon the successes of the house. He begins his new task with a great understanding and appreciation of the unique DNA of the brand,” Hivelin said.

Christophe Decarnin, in his five years with Balmain, revitalized the brand with thigh-skimming dresses, gauzy T-shirts and ornate embroideries that flew off the shelves despite their sky-reaching prices.

Olivier Rousteing while talking about his new role said, “I plan to honor that confidence by ensuring that Pierre Balmain always remains one of the leading brands that others look to as a reference”.

She said: "We are going to continue. It's not 100 per cent confirmed, but we are in talks right now. Hopefully we should know by the end of the week if we're doing Fashion for Relief: Japan”.

Naomi Campbell also organized a similar event in February 2010 to help victims of Haitian earthquake along with supermodel Kate Moss former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell and Girls Aloud singer Nicola Roberts.

Kate Middleton in Alexander McQueen gown

Princess-to-be Kate Middleton is determined to keep her wedding gown designer a mystery, but with all the paparazzi, news reporters hiding outside her hotel to feed their hungry eyes with some spicy sights, the mystery designers seems to be no more a mystery now!

With a lavish furry hood hiding her face, she ran at full tilt from the car into The Goring hotel, trying so hard not to get identified, but we can guess the mystery designer is Sarah Burton, creative director of Alexander McQueen.

There were several clues that clearly indicated the woman was Sarah Burton. Mrs. Burton has a slender build, fair skin and favors loose-fitting, cropped blue trousers and flat ballet pumps. She also owns an identical silver-studded belt and her design at Paris Fashion Week this also included oversized fur hoods.

However, it is also a possibility that Burton could have designed Middleton’s dress for the evening gala on Friday night 600 people at Buckingham Palace and not for the wedding day.

Jolie Jewelry Collection by Angelina Jolie

For the previous nine months, Angelina Jolie had been expecting the birth… not of another child, but of the new jewelry collection bearing her own name and produced with her immediate participation. The actress was helped to realize her plans by the well-known jeweler Robert Prokop. The collection proved to be as perfect as Angelina herself.

Luxurious gems, clean, large and perfectly faceted, perfect graphical framing, classic silhouettes and proportions – it’s all about the “The Style of Jolie” collection.

But the idea of the collection is not just to show up and surprise the connoisseurs of luxury. The goal is pure charity. The entire collection will be sold at the Julien (Beverly Hills) auction which is one of the most secretive and luxurious. Only VIP-guests can contemplate the new decorations and buy them. And all the raised money will go to support Angelina Jolie’s charity project of helping the children who are victims of military conflicts.
